How It Works
Virtual
App
is a content management system. What you want to display for
your organization enters through the Virtual App CMS located at
my-iphone-app.com. To use Virtual App, you need to
subscribe. Once you subscribe, you can create many apps and
submit them to Apple.
The app you create using the Virtual App system is totally configurable
by you. You determine what items go into menus and what types of
pages menu items point to. The app you create always begins with
a main menu. From that point, you determine the architecture
using the templates provided by the system.
First you need to register with the Content Management System.
Once you sign up, you can create an app. The first step to create
an app is creating a submission using the CMS and uploading your icon
and splash screen. Once you do this, you will receive an
'add-hoc' app in your email that you can use to view your app as you
are developing it. It generally takes a day or two to create and
send the app to you.
At any time, you can submit the app to Apple and when it is approved,
then use this to view your app from then on. The app you receive
in the mail is a temporary 'ad-hoc' app you can use before it is
approved by Apple.
There
are
two
parts
to the Virtual App system; 1. the Content Management System (or CMS),
and
2. the viewer that you receive when you register and create a
submission.
You use the CMS to define what your pages look like and what content
they provide. You use the Virtual App program on your iPhone to
look at your application.

You define what pages appear
on your app
and what they display by using the forms located in the CMS at
my-iphone-app.com. You run your app that you receive after
creating a submission to look at
your results. You can change the content at any time by using the
CMS. The changes appear on your app
instantly.
The app submission to Apple costs $99.00. The CMS requires a
subscription fee of $10.00/month. Below is a list of apps which
have been created with Virtual App.
